Olivia Petrides

Work 1993–

Greenland, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands contain primal landscape features that operate powerfully in the psyche — icebergs, glaciers, volcanoes, lava flows, rift lines and stormy island weather. Using watercolors, I painted on site, and then enlarged upon these images in my studio.

I also had the opportunity to teach in France for ten summers, where I found inspiring cave forms.
